A Dreamy Tropical Wedding Style
For years Iโve been dreaming of whimsical and romantic moments, bathed in cascading light through trees and gardens. This styled shoot was a beautiful and remarkable challenge to that dream. When you think of dreamy weddings, maybe tropical weddings are not the first ones you think of, but over the last few years I have been privileged to photograph several tropically styled whimsical weddings and Iโm honestly in love with the whole aesthetic.
A tropical style gives a photoshoot or wedding a sense of freedom. There is just something about being connected to the ocean that reminds you to slow down and breathe. When I really let this session soak in I can almost hear the waves beating rhythmically against the shoreline, leaving me with a sense of peace and calm. I love the warmth that a tropical style brings to a coupleโs love as if they are nestled in a warm embrace.
The Joy of Connection (in photo sessions)
I love that Brittney and Paul were having such a wonderful time in this photo session. If Sun and Sparrow values anything, itโs a connection, and you can tell in this photo session that the couple is deeply connected. The joy on their faces grows from picture to picture and it is clear that they are having a wonderful time. Though they did model for this session, they are a real couple. It was important to us to have a real couple in this photoshoot because the Sun and Sparrow style is all about genuine connection and moments.
You will find that after a Sun and Sparrow photo session, your cheeks might hurt a little bit. I know that often mine do. Sometimes I feel like we spend more time laughing together than actually taking photos, and yet there are always plenty of magical pictures for everyone at the end of the day. I love to have fun with my couples and families, and Iโm pretty sure that they appreciate that about me.

This Editorial was about pairing two themes โ tropical destination with boho personality. We didnโt want to overpower either theme which is why we added in small touches of boho personality like our macrame coasters, crochet table linen, fluffy boho pillows and our Brideโs beautiful dress! Our florals chosen deeply resonated with the tropics, we had a crescent arch floral backdrop which added so much whimsy and fun. When paired with the sand, wind and waves, it truly felt like our couple were the only two people on the planet!
We had delicious signature cocktails because you cannot go to the Tropics without a magical drink on hand! We featured breakfast grazing boards instead of catering to inspire you to have fun on your wedding day, choose what you love instead of what the norm suggests you do! At each guestโs place setting, there was a delicious cupcake on a macrame coaster, just waiting to be devoured! Everything about this shoot was to transport you to a beach paradise, sipping Martinis and having a blast with your dearest and closest.
