We absolutely loved having Ellie as our wedding photographer! She shot our engagement and wedding photos in the summers of 2022 and 2023 in Santa Barbara and Pasadena, CA. Her secondary shooter, Julie, was part of the team on the wedding day and we absolutely loved her too!
Professional
Ellie was attentive to our needs and gave us plenty of prep ahead of our shoots. She was early at both locations to scout out the best spots for our photos. It was also quite hot on our wedding day and she gave us plenty of time to take breaks while keeping us on track -- she did so well that we were actually ahead of schedule!
Photos
Ellie's skills and care are so evident in the photos she takes. As two introverts who don't have our photos taken very often, she offered relatable cues to get the perfect shot every time! Her editing and ability to frame a shot is outstanding. For context, we got married in a Japanese garden and she was able to capture the essence of the garden and us.
Vibe
Ellie cultivated feelings of safety and peace for both our engagement and wedding photos. From the moment we first had our consultation call, she was able to tap into our love for each other and we were sold! She's non-judgmental where we were able to be our goofy selves and she was able to perfectly capture the warmth, joy, and excitement that we have for this next chapter in our lives.
Overall, we adored Ellie and Julie and would 100% recommend her and her team for any major life events you want to be captured.

Who We Are
My name is Ellie Fuqua and I am the principal photographer and founder of Sun & Sparrow Photography. When I'm not capturing life’s most beautiful moments, you can find me with my family, on a hike, or eating delicious food.
When you partner with Sun & Sparrow, we use our passion to tell your unique story through our lenses. We are inspired by your truest forms of love in moments that are candid and organic. We also love creating unique naturally inspired images.
One of the most important parts of our process is to connect with you as a couple or family. We want you to feel comfortable and confident in our artistry so that your natural love can shine in its own best light. Being fine art photographers means that we take the time to be inspired and visually tell the beautiful story of your love.
Our inspiration and philosophy behind photographing comes from admiring love. Loving others is what makes our whole lives worthwhile. It is our team’s and my heart’s desire to capture every one of your intimate moments to share with your loved ones for generations to come.

This first look at Hug point was perfectly THEM... Their romance, intimate connection mixed with their vibrantly silly, energetic personalities came fully to life. And the best part was their WHOLE entourage peeking over the rock ledge just around the corner couldn`t have been more appropriate for their story. I smlied the whole day watching it all unfold and as I learned about who they truly are: adventurous, Wildly loving, and party animals!!
I cannot believe I haven`t shared more about this day. Danny & Camille fully soaked in their wedding at Hug Point and Cannon Beach, two of the most beautiful locations on the west coast.

I was not warned about this day.
Kelley and Voltaire had me in tears by the end of the day. First, I walked in impressed my their decor, hanging flowers throughout the building, and then a wildflower aisle way. What...!? I was in love. That was the first thing I wasn`t expecting. My jaw was on the floor...
But what got me, was how beautiful their stories were, how loving their group was, and how great the connection was between all of the people that surrounded them warmed the space. Dont get me wrong, I`m always impressed with a wedding drenched in amazing artitry by my favorite vendors (shout out to @brightblueevents and @theflowerlab at @calamigosevents), but when I walk out of a wedding seeing the connection that a group has and the unwavering support and unconditional love such a large group can have for each other, I`m left just blown away.

If you know me, you know I love a good "Tiny people, big nature" Moment.
Jenna & Tommy totally went with it for their wedding portrait session at their gorgeous venue, Rancho Vista De Dios and the space didnt just call for it, it screamed it. We ended this session with this incredible sunset and lots of landscpe from this beautiful space.
