The Couple: Angus & Jordan

Some love stories start with a spark, and in the case of Angus and Jordan, that spark was friendship. Theirs is the classic story of best friends who fell in love, and if you spend even a moment with them, you’ll know it was meant to be.

Angus and Jordan live life with open hearts and joyful spontaneity. They thrive in the company of artistic souls, where laughter is abundant and conversations flow effortlessly. Their love is playful, full of inside jokes and sweet moments, but at its core, it is built on a foundation of deep connection and authenticity.

Their engagement was straight out of a dream—Jordan thought they were heading to a Christmas photo session at the Japanese garden, but Angus had something much bigger planned. With the serene beauty of the garden as their backdrop (and their beloved pup by their side), he asked Jordan to spend forever with him. It was a perfect moment, one that reflected the love and thoughtfulness they share.

On their wedding day, that same joy radiated through every moment. Their playfulness, their devotion, and the way they cherish the people around them—it all made for a celebration as heartfelt as their love story itself. And yes, their sweet pup was right there with them, because love like theirs includes all the most important souls.

Stay tuned as we dive deeper into the magic of their wedding day!

The Venue: The Ruins at Hood River

For Angus and Jordan, The Ruins at Hood River was one of those choices that made their wedding day incredibly personal. Jordan’s father and uncle own it together, and their different strengths have helped shape it into something truly special. Their hard work and vision played a big part in making Angus and Jordan’s wedding day unforgettable.

The Ruins got its name because it used to be a cannery, and over time, nature took over. Instead of tearing it down, Jordan’s family turned it into a wedding venue, blending the old with the new in the best way. Cracked bricks and weathered walls are now covered in greenery, and the original structure has been creatively repurposed to make the space feel both historic and full of life.

The venue has a mix of indoor and outdoor areas, each with its own vibe. Inside, there’s a 1970s-style western bar that leads into a reception space that feels a bit like an old saloon. There’s also a stage and a green room where Angus and Jordan got ready for their big day.

Outside, the main courtyard served as both the ceremony and reception space, surrounded by the ruins of the old cannery, which added so much character. Off to the side, there’s an area called The Grotto where guests could grab a drink and relax. The whole venue feels like a perfect mix of history, nature, and celebration—a meaningful place for Angus and Jordan to start this new chapter together.

The Wedding Day A Blissful LBGTQ Wedding

Angus and Jordan’s wedding day was all about connection They really cared about being present with each other and the people they love while enjoying a beautiful experience. That mindset set the tone for a relaxed and joyful day, where laughter and meaningful moments took center stage.

Their wedding colors were maroon, navy, and yellow and felt rich and warm. Sunflowers are a favorite of theirs, so Angus’s mom handmade sunflower boutonnieres using ribbon, adding a sweet personal touch.

Instead of getting ready separately, Angus and Jordan helped each other with their final details in the green room, sharing quiet moments before the day picked up. Their wedding party was just as connected, full of energy and laughter as they helped out. Since everything took place in the same venue, there was no rushing, which allowed them plenty of time to enjoy the day together.

The ceremony was heartfelt and personal, filled with stories about life and love. But one of the absolute highlights? Their dog, who proudly took on the role of ring-bearer! As they walked down the aisle with the rings, they brought out big smiles from everyone watching. It was one of those moments that felt so perfectly them, and it was beautiful to see.

After the ceremony, we headed down to the river for some portraits. The grove behind them created a stunning backdrop, and the natural beauty of Hood River only added to the magic. More than anything, Angus and Jordan wanted their photos to reflect who they are—playful, silly, and full of love. And that’s exactly what they got.
