The Couple: Kendall & Bruce

Kendall and Bruce hold a special place in my heart. One of the things I love most about wedding photography is forming a genuine connection with my couples, and these two made that so easy.
They first met at the gym, and their love story is as beautiful as it is serendipitous. They actually shared the whole story in a blog post about their engagement session, and if you’re a fan of real-life love stories, I highly recommend giving it a read.
Kendall and Bruce have an incredible energy together. They’re playful, adventurous, and always on the move, finding joy in staying active both individually and as a couple. Bruce is completely smitten with Kendall, melting whenever he’s around her. Throughout their wedding day, he kept saying he couldn’t believe he was lucky enough to marry her. That kind of love is something special, and I couldn’t be happier that they get to share it.
Their style is timeless. They have a classic, polished look with an effortless elegance that stands out. They gravitate toward natural tones and exude the kind of charm that lights up a room. If there were ever a prom king and queen of the wedding world, it would be these two—charismatic, social, and absolutely radiant together.
The Venue: Shutters on the Beach

Shutters on the Beach is an upscale resort that brings a refined take on coastal charm. The space is beautifully curated with raw wood, ocean views, and seashell accents, all complemented by soft blue, yellow, and cream tones. The intricate woodwork, chandeliers, and abstract paintings add an elevated touch, blending the relaxed feel of the beach with a sense of elegance.
Located right on the Strand in Santa Monica, Shutters sits next to the iconic Casa Blanca hotel. We didn’t have to go far to reach the beach, which made for some truly magical moments with Kendall and Bruce. They got the best of both worlds with an elegant, stylish celebration at Shutters and a dreamy sunset photo session by the ocean. Some of the most breathtaking shots included the Santa Monica Pier in the background, adding to the magic of the evening.
Having the beach just steps away was invaluable. It gave them a quiet, romantic moment together at sunset, away from the energy and excitement of the wedding day. Those peaceful in-between moments are always some of my favorites to capture, and Kendall and Bruce embraced them so beautifully.
The Wedding Day

The day started with Bruce as he got ready, and he was completely on board with everything. He trusted me fully, striking any pose we suggested and adding his own touch to the process. He even ended up with a few extra flat lays because he kept thinking of meaningful details he wanted to include. His groomsmen were just as incredible. I have a feeling their military background played a role in how seamlessly they worked together—they were ready to jump into action at a moment’s notice while still keeping the energy light and fun.
Kendall’s side was just as amazing. Her bridesmaids were total team players, bringing joy and laughter to every moment. Her sister, in particular, had a quick wit that kept everyone smiling. I’d call this group sophisticated woo girls—they knew how to celebrate, but they kept it classy, balancing excitement with elegance.
One of the most touching details of the day was Kendall’s clutch. Her mom had made it for her, a beautifully crafted piece that carried something even more special inside—a heartfelt poem she had written. Watching Kendall’s mom read it to her while they held hands, both tearing up, was an honor to witness. Moments like these are what make wedding days unforgettable.
Kendall and Bruce decided to keep things traditional and skip the first look, saving that dreamy, emotional moment for the aisle. It was a choice that made their ceremony all the more magical.
