Interview With The Bride
Waking up on November 05, 2016, I had mixed emotions of happiness, excitement, and anxiety. I remember feeling nervous while getting my hair and makeup done, all while I was going over my wedding vows and thinking about our first dance. The thought of how my decor would look in its final state popped into my head as well, increasing my anxiousness and making it somewhat hard for me to concentrate on my vows.
Spending the entire year purchasing, then returning, and re-purchasing decor became a vicious cycle. But with the help of my Maid of Honors, Pinterest, and my coordinator, my modern, eclectic wedding would come true on this special day. The morning felt rushed and chaotic, but it was quite thrilling to know that in just a couple hours I was going to marry my soulmate in front of friends and family.
When it was time to finally go down to The 1909 for the first look, that is when my nerves really hit me and I remember getting sweaty and wanting to happy-cry and hideaway. Walking down the steps and seeing Mike with his back turned, waiting for me, my anxiousness swept away, and in came my tears. He looked so handsome in his blue suit and bow tie. This day was meant for both of us and together we would conquer our nerves and take in the beauty of this moment.
The ceremony was lovely as the sun shined through the trees above us, but hearing both our vows out loud made it even more amazing. My vision for this day came to life with the help of my coordinator, and I could not have been more ecstatic with the result of the reception area! To see all the wedding decor in the way I envisioned in my head was worth the craziness that ensued with my constant mind-changing of my wedding theme! I was living my own Pinterest dream board!
The unease I felt about my decor seemed so silly because it was my loving friends and family that made this day so memorable. I wish I could go back and relive this day as it went by in the blink of an eye, but that is why we have these photos to take us back to a moment that we will never forget!
