Magical Forest Engagement session in Big Bear // Daniel & Eliza

From day one, music was a main focus of our relationship. We met when we both joined an a cappella group in San Francisco, called The Love Notes. Eliza was the music director, and Daniel was one of the most talented beatboxers she had ever met. Daniel admired her enchanting voice and aptitude for vocals. After a few months of being in the group together, Daniel wanted to ask Eliza out, but decided to wait and play the long game. We hung out a few times platonically, and after a couple weeks some serendipity brought us to the same Muse concert on the same night (with tickets that had been purchased several months earlier, before they even met). That night we shared our first kiss and dance. Again it was music that helped bring us together! Three years later, we have a band together called DEFusion, which has brought us so much joy and closeness.

Our engagement was a quiet affair, in part because that is our style, and in part because we got engaged during the pandemic. Daniel asked Eliza’s dad for his blessing, and he was thrilled. One night, Daniel came home for date night with takeout from their favorite restaurant, flowers, champagne, and a beautiful ring. We are so excited to start the rest of their lives together, to start a family, and of course, to make more music.
