FROM THE BRIDE

I remember waking up the morning of the wedding at 3 AM. While staring at the ceiling, I wished it was a more reasonable time to wake up.  I was already so excited for our wedding day! I had been dreaming about an Fairytale Los Angeles Wedding at the Vibiana  for so long. Dreaming about my fairytale wedding and all the special moments that would come with it. The day felt so long as we began to prepare. With hair, make up, and a bit of nervous anticipation, all of my heart was ready to see Matt.

One of my favorite moments was our first look. We opted to have our first look privately in the courtyard next to the RedBird Cafe. We wanted our moment to be just ours. I remember the moment with so much clarity. I came down the stairs from and met him in the hallway. When we saw each other in that first glance, there were butterflies in our stomachs and tears in our eyes. This moment was just like I had dreamed of. After so much time and effort put into every detail of the day, seeing Matt at our first look made everything fall into place. From that moment, the entire day flowed naturally. I instantly relaxed and was able to let my day happen.

WEDDING DAY DESIGN

I absolutely loved my wedding day decor! In creating an fairytale Los Angeles wedding at the Vibiana, I wanted our day to be classic and timeless with a bit of a whimsical element.  I wanted to bring naturally lush elements, both outside and inside. I loved the ivy that we brought in to cover the marble inside Vibiana. Because the Vibiana had once been a cathedral, there were so many beautiful architectural elements. We focused most on the designs of the flowers and mixed in a touch of metals (gold and copper) to add personality. Overall, I would definitely say the flowers and greenery absolutely made the venue shine.

If I could give one piece of advice to future brides, I would say, “slow down and enjoy every moment.” It wasn’t easy for me. It’s easy to get overwhelmed by the sheer gravity of getting married. I keep remembering that while your wedding day will be wonderful, it’s just another day–it doesn’t have to be perfect. Remember that nothing is perfect. The more you can remember to be in love with your moments with the people that you love. And that’s what it’s about! It’s about your love, your moments and you’re forever.

how she did itFROM THE BRIDE // So what inspired me regarding the decor I chose for the wedding was the venue itself. The Mission Inn is so romantic and beautiful, I wanted everything else to match that romantic theme. My dress was by the designer Berta. I fell in love with this dress because of its unique design, the beautiful lace, and all of the beads/pearls. My shoes were Jimmy Choo’s and actually pretty comfortable considering I didn’t break them in prior to the wedding. My earrings and rosary were by Maria Elena, she also makes beautiful headpieces. My husband’s navy tuxedo was by Theory, and matched perfectly with my dress and the theme of our wedding. Posh Peony did an amazing job on my florals, linen, and draping. Everything came out more beautiful than I imagined. I wanted a very soft romantic feel, so I went with cream roses with a hint of pale blush. I was so happy with Sweet Traders design and taste of our wedding cake. The design was beautiful. Again, I was going for a romantic theme so I had them add fondant lace appliqués to the top and bottom layer, along with some ribbon and rhinestones at the very bottom of the two middle layers, then had them add a few fresh flowers throughout. My DJ, Dance All Night DJ, did a wonderful job! He also did the lighting which added that romantic feel throughout the ballroom at the reception.
Wedding photographs were very important to me, and I decided on our venue based on the many photo opportunities of the beautiful decor and architecture at Mission Inn. At the end of the day, all you have are memories and photographs from your wedding day and that’s why I wanted to make sure I hired photographers/videographers that would capture that.  The most memorable part of our wedding day was the moment we first saw each other as I was walking down the isle and Wilfredo was waiting for me at the alter. That is a moment we will never forget.
