Whimsical Garden Wedding at Strawberry Farms// David & Erin
Whimsical Garden Wedding at Strawberry Farms// David & Erin @2019 Sun & Sparrow // Los Angeles County Wedding Photographers
1.) Bride – The morning of I was just excited and praying that everyone showed up and everything went smoothly. It didn’t quite hit home for me that this was the big day until heading over to the venue. Getting all dolled-up at the hotel was very fun and I was blown away by how beautiful everyone looked!! I was most looking forward to seeing that everything was in place and to see the whole wedding party together including David.
Groom – The morning of I felt very nervous, but excited to put on my uniform. I most looked forward to seeing Erin in her dress. I was anxious to see how everything was going to turn out.
2.) We decided to do a first look so that we could take photos together earlier in the day and take full advantage of having the photographers there for the getting ready photos.
– When I (Erin) first saw David, I could not stop smiling. He looked very handsome and everything was becoming so real. I was proud of us both for making it to this point in our relationship and I knew without a doubt that he was the love of my life and I was excited to think of our future together.
– When I (David) first saw Erin, I thought she was the prettiest bride he had ever seen. I was happy with how her makeup turned out because we had both agreed ahead of time that the trial makeup just wasn’t an accurate portrayal of who she was.
3.) Favorite Moment-
Bride: My favorite moment was dancing in the barn. All of the nerves had settled, bellies were full, and everyone looked like they were having a great time. I could just sit back for the first time and enjoy the fruits of all of my efforts to get us to that point.
Groom: My favorite moment was standing at the altar with my best friends and family, and waiting for Erin to come out of the clubhouse down the aisle. It brought me such comfort to see all of the people there that supported us in our journey into the next steps in our lives together.
4.) Most like a fairytale –
Bride: The day felt most like a fairytale when we were taking our pictures around the golf course after the first look. I felt comfortable in my skin and was enjoying my time with David and enjoying the intimacy of it just being the two of us.
Groom: It was surreal to see it all come together with the efforts of all of the vendors. They all contributed such unique talents and creativity to make such a beautiful wedding for us.
I`m so excited to be at Descanso Gardens next week for a gorgeous spring wedding. Cant lie, I love Descanso in the spring. I really hope its showing off like it was in these pictures. Fingers crossed for all the blooms and a beautiful day for the lovely couple we get to capture.
Gosh its been a while since I have gotten to put together a proper Flaylay. Coming from a wedding photographer, seems that a lot of couples are recently opting out of these precious little setups and allotting time towards other things like mingling at cocktail hour and late night photos. It makes so much sense to me that (if they were pitted against the choice) anyone would choose to spend time on their precious day with people that traversed from out of town to celebrate with them. But selfishly, I wish they might add time or sneak in some way to include flatlays like these. In any case, I love how my clients choose to spend their time and love their people, their wedding day, and the moments that fly by with haste. THOUGH, I would never want to convince someone to give up any of those warm memories for a more decorative moment. BUT... if we can add it in, then I will absolutely be all over styling these shots faster than you can say please.
I need this wedding to take up more space on my grid, because it was just phenomenal. Cape Horn Estate SCREAMED of natural beauty and incredible landscaping with the mountain view of the Columbia Gorge and the brilliant florals that surrounded the entire property. It is unmatched with its unique and jaw-dropping scenes.
But far past the beauty of the estate, MacKenzie and Dan just shined with their love for each other and their family&friends all day long. Their focus was on the beauty if the environment and their love for adventure.
Minus the sunburn, I would do it ALL over again just to rewatch their unhindered joy shine everywhere.
I only deliver about 5% OR LESS in black and white. But when they make their appearance, they are chosen with intention and lots of love. These little gems from Morgan & Cole`s dreamy engagement session spoke to me in an extra special way that felt even better completely colorless.
Something about black and white just makes the energy change and my eyes to see a completely different part of an image compared to full color. I really love it.
