Raphael & Michelle // Rustic Redondo Beach engagement

torrance redondo beach holiday mini sessions 0075
FROM THE BRIDE // We had planned a trip to visit my family in the Philippines last April 2014. Our trip would include traveling to Boracay and Palawan, but also traveling to other cities to spend time with family.Raphael, my mom, and I flew out together to Manila. We met up with some of my family members and all of us immediately flew to Boracay, Philippines the next day. While in Boracay we got to enjoy a lot of leisure time and island hopping. My family let me know that on our last day in Boracay we would be having a sunset dinner together. Raphael and I got ready and headed towards the van that would provide us transportation to the restaurant. When we got to the restaurant our host had let us know that our reservation wasn’t ready and that we would have to hold tight while they finish the preparations. When it was ready for our dinner, Raphael grabbed me and led me to the dining area alone. We start to walk towards the outdoor patio where the resort has a private beach. As we’re walking  I suddenly hear my favorite song on the outdoor speakers which immediately starts to trigger some emotions in me. Raphael is talking to me about our relationship and leads me to this area on the beach where a man is standing next to a draped item. The man pulls the drape and a huge sandcastle is shown. On the sandcastle the artist had written “Will you Marry Me Michelle?” Raphael got on one knee and asked me to marry him. I immediately start to cry and say yes with a big kiss. I hear my family applauding and cheering. My family had been watching the whole proposal which was so sweet.
After the proposal, Raphael walked me to a dining table that was set up for my family and I to have dinner on the beach. Raphael arranged the dinner with my cousin and the resort as a way for us to celebrate the proposal with my family. It was the most romantic beach proposal ever. 🙂

I was not warned about this day.

Kelley and Voltaire had me in tears by the end of the day. First, I walked in impressed my their decor, hanging flowers throughout the building, and then a wildflower aisle way. What...!? I was in love. That was the first thing I wasn't expecting. My jaw was on the floor...

But what got me, was how beautiful their stories were, how loving their group was, and how great the connection was between all of the people that surrounded them warmed the space. Dont get me wrong, I'm always impressed with a wedding drenched in amazing artitry by my favorite vendors (shout out to @brightblueevents and @theflowerlab at @calamigosevents), but when I walk out of a wedding seeing the connection that a group has and the unwavering support and unconditional love such a large group can have for each other, I'm left just blown away.

Kelley &,Voltaire, thank yoi for sharing these incredible moments with your crew. I feel so grateful you chose me to document it.
