Interview With The Bride
What is your favorite memory from your wedding day?
I absolutely loved my wedding day. There were so many wonderful memories, that there were too many to have a favorite. Moments like walking down the aisle with both of my parents, seeing all of our closest friends and family exchanging our personal vows, the speeches given during our reception, dancing with everyone on the dance floor with rave lights, etc.
Literally, everything felt so special. It was one of the happiest days of my life. If I could think of one of my favorite parts about my wedding, it would definitely be planning my wedding. The Best part of planning the wedding was being able to spend so much time with friends and family. I felt so loved and supported being with them and would definitely do the whole process again.
Tell us about some of your favorite helpers from your wedding day
When I look back at my wedding day, I realize how very blessed I was to have wedding planners to help. I can’t rave enough about Candace and Katherine from LOVE IS SWEET EVENTS. Those ladies were so very thoughtful and so very observant of what kind of colors and styles I liked. We had many conversations and planning meetings and spent lots of time on Pinterest together.
They did a great job of putting a lot of it together and bringing my visions to life. I also want to shout out to my sister-in-law, Esther, who helped so much and guided me through the process. She taught me everything I needed to know about making my wedding special. I couldn’t have done it without my whole planning team. They made my day awesome!
What Advice Can You Give Brides Planning Their Weddings Right Now
If I have one bit of advice for brides planning their weddings, it would be to not stress and get too caught up in all the bells and whistles of a wedding. Even if certain things don’t go the way you had dreamed, remember that the only thing that should really matter is that you’re getting married to the person you want to spend the rest of your life with. I am so happy I did my best to not stress.

The Venue: Westlake Village Inn
Where is the Westlake Village Inn located?
The Westlake Village Inn is located just off the 101 freeway at 31943 Agoura Rd, Westlake Village, CA 91361, just southeast of Thousand Oaks, California. It is situated just off of the Westlake Golf Course which provides a beautiful greenspace for anyone staying there, along with several large lakes. There are many food options nearby, as well as Westlake Lake, where homes sit on the water, and create a magical feel, unique in Southern California.
What is the Westlake Village Inn like?
The Westlake Village Inn has a Tuscan feel to it. Very luxurious with multiple spaces for lots of events to happen. Its incredibly thoughtful in its design and they are focused on making sure that the entire property is thriving with greenery. There are vines and Ivy and roses and bushes and waterfalls everywhere.
The venue is incredibly luxurious and features a picturesque hotel. it is very popular for brides to use it for their getting-ready pictures. The estate rooms feel like mansions with large staircases and hanging chandeliers, along with terracotta walls. The beds are enhanced with beautiful bedframes and the bathrooms feel very upscale. There are a lot of places for lounging everywhere so everyone can enjoy themselves during any time you spend in the room.
Nearby Venues
While the Inn is an incredible venue in its own right, many of my brides choose to use it as a place to stay before their wedding, and a getting-ready space. The venue has been featured in several of Sun & Sparrow’s first looks and many bridal photo sessions. I definitely recommend considering the Westlake Village Inn for any of my clients getting married nearby.
The Inn is only a fifteen-minute drive from Calamigos Ranch or the Lodge at Malibou Lake, and several brides have chosen to stay at the Inn when they had their wedding there. Recently, a bride and groom getting married at Malibu West Beach Club had their getting ready and first-look photos taken at the Westlake Village Inn, which led to a beautiful drive through the mountains in the middle of the day.
Calamigos Ranch is a rustic-inspired luxury wedding venue with four different incredible venue spaces
My Favorite Parts of Being a Westlake Village Inn Wedding Photographer
I have been privileged to photograph several weddings at this beautiful location, and so many getting-ready sessions. Every time I come to this location I am impressed with its beauty.
My favorite place to take pictures at the Inn is at the Rose Arch corridor because it feels like a wonderland. I also love the hallway they have covered in trellises and ivy to create a romantic feel. When I photograph weddings at the Westlake Village Inn I love to take my clients to all of the most romantic and beautiful spots they have.
There are several ceremony spaces at the Inn, but my favorite is the column gazebo. European, with artistic wrought ironwork at the top that creates a whimsical feel, the entire space is mesmerizing. One of the best features of the ceremony space is a large arch of Jasmine at the entrance of the aisle. When brides walk through it their entrance feels dramatic. It looks amazing in person and even better in images.
