Our love story began many, many years ago. Cameron and I grew up being pen-pals, and one each other’s confidant. We shared all our ups and downs through all stages of our lives, always being a safe place full of comfort for one another.
Both of our lives were on very different paths for a very long time. The day our paths finally met up and we began walking hand-in-hand, we knew we found our place in the world.
We started a life together in Southern California and after two years, we welcomed a baby boy into the world. Ezra William has been the greatest gift and has changed us for the better in every way. He has taught us a new kind of love that is all encompassing. He has taught us patience, kindness, and warmth. He is one of the most important lights in our lives, and we feel lucky to be his. Watching him grow has been the most loving experience of our lives.
A year and a half after having Ezra, we were married at the Santa Barbara courthouse. Our wedding day was a celebration of what we already knew in our hearts, and we were beyond lucky to be able to share it with our close friends and family. The day was perfect in every way. There were no nerves, only excitement in joining our families together and celebrate the love and life we have built together. It will be a day we will always remember.
As our lives continue on, our love will only grow, and we look forward to the many years we get to spend together as a family.

I met Helen last year in Seattle at my optometrist`s office (far away, I know...) who is the receptionist there. She was the sweetest, most compassionate and fun-loving person to navigate a confusing new part of my journey as someone who now wears glasses permanently. In any case, she and I have gotten to know each other through the process of glasses+weddings (such a funny combo!). I have watched her journey and gotten to know so much about the depth of how she cares for people, and its so so beautiful.
She`s one of the youngest brides I have ever worked with, and it has shown me SO MUCH about my next generation of brides and how I CANNOT WAIT for those weddings coming soon. The energy coming into the next era of weddings is so fresh and blissful, Something we all need much more of in the world.
Helen, Youre a gem. I`m so thoroughly grateful for you and the fun stories we have created together.
Cheers to Helen and all the brides getting married in this era! WOO!
Had the absolute pleasure of taking pictures of my friends and neighbors who have been the most welcoming and lovely people to live near.
The fact that my little family gets to share life with these warm and thoughtful humans is what I have always dreamed about. I`m so grateful they trusted me to capture these portraits for them at the cutest lake down the road. Its wild how beautiful this place is!
People, nature, and all the love. Its doesn`t get better.
Question: Would you willingly get lost in a hedge maze to get these shots?
Answer: Yes. Every time.
Ivy manor had all the stops for a magical wedding. Including their hedge maze, they had hidden stone houses, ivy covered pathways, iron gates, rose gardens, and castle-themed everything. if youre looking for a fairytale wedding, this is it.
The fact that I get to be in these magical places so often, it becomes part of daily life and I can`t belive it. When I talk about it I often have to re-rememember that this isn`t normal and im incredibly lucky to see magic endlessly.
Anyways, visit the Colombia Gorge. Its the most magical place.
Do you set up scenes for your Holiday Mini-Sessions? Thanks,
Hi Melanie, sometimes we do. did you have something in mind?
