This is my love story!

Life is so sweet. I am a very lucky woman to have met my darling Hide. (Emphasis on the E) We first met on a trip to Magic Mountain with some mutual friends. I can remember that Hide was hung over that day and the whole ride there and back, he had fallen asleep and was snoring in the car. On the way there, Hide had woken up as we got nearer to the theme park and started singing out loud on the way there. I could have never imagined this would be the man I would marry. I was so shy and quiet. I could tell, since he was such a loud and outgoing person that he was not interested in me. Right about that time, I had just come to America from Japan to start college at Long Beach State.  Hide had just graduated from Long Beach and started working. At first, we didn’t talk to each other that much. As I was doing research and beginning my scholarly journey at Long Beach State, I wanted to ask all my friends about the school and teachers, what I should expect.  Hide was one of the first people to offer to take me on a tour of Long Beach State. I thought that was very nice of him, and I took him up on the offer. A few weeks later Hide took me to the school and gave me a campus tour. After a really nice day on campus, he took me  to Belmont shore Brewing Co. We had a few drinks and I was able to open up to him. That was our first date! From there, we fell in love with Belmont Shores and Long Beach. We found out that we share the same love for food and drinks, and life and love. After that, the rest is history. We’ve been together ever since.  I’m so glad to have him in my life. He is honestly the best, most fun man I’ve known and I can’t wait to marry him. CHECK OUT OUR ENGAGEMENT SESSION HERE!!

Mark and Michelle | Griffith Observatory Engagement | Los Angeles Photographers

Mark and Michelle met on a beautiful Wednesday in April. The sun was shining, the birds were chirping, and the air was crisp. As soon as their eyes met doves flew from everywhere, fireworks started going off, and unicorns began to frolic. It was love at first sight. Ok, that was a lie. Well, everything but the Wednesday in April. Who am I kidding… it may not have been a Wednesday.

So, Mark and Michelle met on a day in April. Michelle just started her new job that she got quite abruptly. Mark was just the weird guy that worked in the warehouse to her at that time. They spoke from time to time over the first few months and eventually became friends. They lived in the same apartment complex and would hang out regularly, whether for spa trips, late night drives, or Sunday breakfasts. He would pay as long as she would drive. This went on for about 3 years.

One day, something changed… Mark and Michelle were exchanging emails and texts throughout a Saturday. Michelle said she was having trouble with her homework and Mark asked if he could help. She said that HE was the reason she was having trouble. He got hit by a car and that’s when it all started.

They dated for two years before getting engaged. Mark wanted to do something very special for their engagement. He first bought the ring that he had heard her talk about before. Leading up to their two year anniversary (the day he planned to propose) he started putting together a picture book. It detailed everything they did in their second year of dating, ending at their anniversary at the beach. On the last page it simply read, “and he got down on one knee”. That is when he pulled out the ring and asked her to marry him. He didn’t actually say the words but she got the point. She immediately slammed the box shut without saying anything. Poor Mark got nervous as he did not know how to take that. He then re-opened the box to try again.

It seemed to work that time around. Phew… he made it…
