Matt & Tina’s wonderful Samoan wedding..
I wanted to thank Matt & Tina for such a wonderful experience in Samoan culture. First, I have to say that Tina was such a beautiful bride. Her dress and style choice worked perfectly for her and gave her a beautiful and classic elegance.
One of my favorite moments of the whole day, besides the stunningly beautiful decor and location, was the traditional dances. There were three amazing dances that included Samoan traditional dances and crazy money dances. There was so much love and SO MUCH MONEY being thrown around, to bless the couple. How amazing it was to see twenties fly through the room just to land on the floor and land in their hair.

Engagement Story

Matt and I have been together for five and half years, this July of 2012 will make 6 years. Since most of my immediate family lives in Arizona, we switch off family get together for the holidays. The year of 2010, we had spent Thanksgiving with Matt’s family so that meant we would spend Christmas with my family in Arizona.

It was Christmas Eve and my parents, sisters, brother in-laws and nieces and nephews were all together at my parents house. We had just finished eating dinner and were getting ready to open gifts, we usually open gifts the night before Christmas, I guess you can say it has become a family tradition for us. I could already since Matt was acting a little strange, I would ask him if he was OK and he would just tell me that he felt a little under the weather. After the gift the opening, Matt excused himself and the rest of us continued to chat and enjoy our gifts we received.

Matt then came back into the room that we were all in and said he had an announcement to make, we all looked at him and he announced in front of everyone that he loved me very much and he turned to me and got on one knee and then I knew what was about to happen, I was in SHOCK! I just sat there speechless…Matt then took out a little black box, opened it and with tears in his eyes asked, “Will you Marry Me?” I said, “YES!!!” We then hugged and told each other how much we loved each other. 

My family was so happy, my mom then gave a speech and said how much she appreciated him sharing that special moment with them and welcomed Matt into our family.

Now every Christmas Eve, we will remember how special that day is for us…

DIY Candy Buffet

I was so lucky to have my Candy Buffet put together by my cousin and Maid of Honor Hana and her best Friend Lima. Instead of doing your traditional wedding favors, we decided to do a Candy Buffet instead for all of our guests. 

If you can get any friends or family members to help with this, this will take a lot of stress off of you as the bride. Buying different shapes and sizes of Candy Jars, can make a big difference on the Candy Display. Also to incorporate your wedding colors into the Buffet, you can get ribbon in your Wedding colors to put around the jars, this helps not make the jars look plain. 

If you are looking into doing something different and unique, this would be a good option.
