Kylie & Kerel // Romantic affair at Westlake Village

FROM THE BRIDE // Kerel and I share similar style. We like to keep it simple and classy. Originally, I wanted my colors to be blush and gold. As we got further into the planning, I realized that the blush and gold theme didn’t incorporate Kerel and his style much. Although he was very sweet and adamant about it being “my day” I wanted to incorporate his style as much as possible. While searching Pintrest, I then fell in love with a Chanel theme. I thought what a great way to incorporate much of what I wanted and still give the wedding some of the masculine touches that will represent Kerel. Not to mention, Chanel is my favorite brand and symbolizes fashion, class, sophistication, and elegance; all of which inspire Kerel and I. It was absolutely perfect. I figured I could create perfume bottes for centerpieces and make a keepsake mixology bar with male and female scents. We incorporated the blush and gold colors mostly for the ceremony and then stuck to clean lines and black and white for much of the reception. Everyone loved it including Kerel who had no idea until he showed up day of.

The most memorable moment was walking down the aisle and seeing Kerel for the first time.  I tried not to cry but as soon as I saw tears in his eyes I couldn’t hold back. It was a beautiful, peaceful ceremony and I will never forget locking eyes on Kerel. It felt like only the two of us were there. My favorite moment was the garter toss. What a show! Lol Kerel looked so handsome and controlled. I had no idea what he was going to do for the toss and to my surprise he really made the night interesting to say the least. His garter toss song was “You Deserve it” by the WKND and there was a point where he told his mom to cover her eyes. I remember all of our friends cheering him on as he removed my garter. Entertaining to say the least!

I knew I HAD to work with Sun and Sparrow the minute I met Tiffani at my brother and new sister’s wedding (Mason wedding). I loved how much control and direction Tiffani had and how organized the team was. Also, I love Sun and Sparrows romantic style. Each picture is captured with such great usage of natural light and glow. It’s like being in a fairytale. So romantic!! I would highly recommend to any bride.

I can say that the best part of being married is that I literally have my best friend with me everyday. My life partner. This world can be tough and harsh. It is so nice to fight the battles with someone that I know has my best interest and who REALLY knows me. By being married we are fulfilling Gods plan and doing his work. It may not always be easy but anything worth having is worth fighting for.

If I could recommend one thing to brides out there planning their weddings, do what works for you and your hubby to be and stick to it.  You are planning a party for ONE day- and yes, it’s true, it goes by really fast. It is almost impossible to have a wedding without someone being upset at you or having an opinion of the decisions you make about your day. Remember what this is about. Don’t get caught up in the details, it might not be perfect but t will be ok. Finally, I have to say as a financial advisor, it’s important that I mention budget. Do your best not to acquire much or any wedding debt. I have seen clients and friends getting divorced as they are still paying off their wedding. The wedding is only ONE day. Decide on a budget in the beginning and stick to it. It should be beautiful and to your liking but don’t get caught up spending more time on the planning of your day than you do in the planning of your MARRIAGE.
