Jonathan & Megan // Engagement at The Gardens in Paso Robles

rainy Day engagement

FROM THE BRIDE // When the two of them met and started to learn things about one another, they found out that they had a number of similar interests / hobbies.  They both played sports their entire lives and both wore the number 22 during that time.  Their families were both from England and both loved the Dallas Cowboys.

This gives a little insight into the engagement proposal.

Jonathan was an extreme Dallas Cowboys fan, while Megan was primarily into baseball.  As the relationship grew deeper, Megan inherently began to love the Cowboys as much as Jonathan did.  She bought him a custom/pro NFL Cowboys jersey (complete with the number 22 and his last name) the first year of their relationship.  The same jersey he wears every Sunday when cheering on their favorite team.  Megan eventually started showing more and more interest in the game and even began rivaling Jonathan in her excitement for the games each week.  She expressed her desire to get a Dallas Cowboys jersey and almost bought her own.  Little did she know, Jonathan already had something planned.  He told her to be patient because a jersey was on its way.  He said that his mom was buying her a Sean Lee jersey, her favorite player, for Christmas.  So she waited.

The two had already planned a weekend trip to Dallas to watch a game in October.  A week before the trip, Jonathan treated Megan to a date night, since they had not been out to a nice dinner in a while.  After work, she was getting ready when Jonathan got home.  Super excited, she put on her favorite dress and walked down stairs.  The couple’s two bulldogs were running around, being adorable, when Megan noticed their girl bulldog (Tallica) had a note around her neck.  Megan, not really knowing the reason for the note, began to read.

“Mom, Slayer and I are super excited for you and dad.  We are going to miss you, but we hope you have so much fun.  Slayer and I found this perfect gift for you.  We hope you love it.  It is in the kitchen.”

Megan walked into the kitchen and found a wrapped present waiting for her.  She read the note on the gift from their boy bully, Slayer.

“Mom, hope you have a great time on your trip.  Talli and I knew you had to have this…”

Megan opened the present and found two things.  A note, which read, “…especially because dad has a question for you.”  And a Dallas Cowboy jersey with Jonathan’s last name on the back.

Megan, not really knowing what the gift meant, turned to Jonathan…who pulled her in close.  He began to tell her all the reasons he loved her and why she was the most amazing person he had ever met.  He wanted to spend the rest of his life with her and got down on one knee.

“Will you do our dogs and I this honor….will you marry me?”  YES!!!!!!!!!!   And with that, their new journey begins…
