FROM THE BRIDE // Anthony and I have been together now for over 5 years. We have known each other longer but God’s timing brought us together when we were both ready to explore a serious relationship. Is it normal that after our first date we were inseparable? We clicked so well and became best friends. Six months in, we took a trip to Costa Rica and were very close to eloping! However, we both realized how important it is to have our family there to witness. I had no doubt I was going to marry him. Time flew and all of a sudden it was 5 years later! Hahaha… From finishing my Bachelor’s Degree to adding a surprise of going straight into my Graduate program and preparing for my CPA exams it took longer than I expected. Anthony was patient and so supportive of me. Also, during this time I truly believe God was still working his magic to mold us for our marriage to come. My love for him just continued to grow through the years as we learned more and more about each other.

Now to the big day… It was a Friday night and Anthony made plans to have a nice dinner. We went to Yamashiro in LA that overlook all the city lights, what an amazing view!  While we waited we had a drink at the bar and were entertained by the wedding reception going on. It was time to be seated and they sat us away from everybody in the corner. I thought why over here? I want to sit in the main area with the view of the city! (What a brat, right?) Maybe Anthony requested us to be seated there? I never asked. So we got moved and enjoyed our dinner. Thinking back Anthony seemed perfectly normal. I didn’t detect any nerves. It was like a normal date night. Food was so yummy! Yamashiro has a beautiful outdoor Asian garden where guest are allowed to go explore and enjoy the open view. After dinner I wanted to go down there to get some nice pictures of us with the background. In the garden we found a bench and talked a bit. All of a sudden Anthony kind of slides off the bench onto his knee and asks me to marry him! I wish I could remember word for word what he told me while he was proposing but I was in shock giggling and crying of joy.  It was so personal and intimate since we were the only people in that area, definitely an amazing moment for us to share alone. I’m beyond excited to be married to him. It’s been a long time coming. Let the next chapter begin!
