Adam & Karina // A fairytale Westlake Village wedding

FROM THE BRIDE //   We really wanted to have a romantic intimate wedding that was very personalized. Anyone who knows us knows that we are completely crazy for each other and we wanted to convey our love throughout the wedding. It was all about the small details. Since Adam loves Star Wars, I surprised him with a Star Wars groom’s cake. One of my favorite songs is Ellie Goulding’s “How Long Will I Love You” so Adam asked his brother-in-law to perform the song at the ceremony. We both have our favorite candy so in our dessert bar we had his favorite Sourpatch Kids and my Peanut M&M’s. All the little personal touches is what made our wedding memorable to not only us, but to our friends and family.

WHAT WAS THE MOST MEMORABLE/FAVORITE PART ABOUT YOUR WEDDING DAY?  //  Karina– Adam and I decided to forgo tradition and spend the night together before our wedding day. It was so wonderful waking up next to him, enjoying breakfast in bed and really taking that time together before all the craziness of the wedding began.  //  Adam– My favorite part was seeing Karina during our first look, she looked amazing in dress and she was beaming ear to ear.

WHY WAS PHOTOGRAPHY IMPORTANT TO YOU AND WHY DID YOU CHOOSE SUN & SPARROW?  //  There were three things that were very important to us in regards to our wedding budget, open bar, great music, and beautiful photography! We were always told that your wedding day is such a blur so we wanted to make sure that we found photographers that would capture those moments that we would either miss or forget. When we went through Sun & Sparrow’s portfolio we loved their style and saw that they did capture those intimate moments of the wedding. After we spoke with Tiffani and had our engagement shoot we knew we made the right choice! She really does care about her clients and makes sure that they get exactly what they want out of their photo shoot. During the wedding her team was on top of the schedule and coordinating with other vendors seamlessly all while taking photos and making sure that we were having a great time!
DO YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE FOR BRIDES WHO ARE CURRENTLY IN THE PLANNING PROCESS?  //  One thing that made the whole planning process a breeze was planning way in advance. Our engagement was about a year and a half, but I started booking vendors immediately after we got engaged. This allowed to really get competitive quotes, negotiate contracts, and allow for payment schedules if needed. Once we took care of the business aspect with the vendors, we were free to have fun and start detailing what we wanted for the wedding. Another thing that I would say is to remember that the wedding is about the two people getting married. Sometimes the wedding becomes more about other people and less about you two, when you have to make those decisions just take a moment and remember that it is about you and your fiance and everyone else will understand.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF BEING MARRIED NOW?  //  My most favorite part of being married is joining both our families together. We are very close to our families so it was important to us that their relationship with each other would grow and be positive. We loved that they were having a great time with each other at the wedding and making plans to spend time together while we were on our honeymoon! Adam and I moved in together prior to getting engaged and had made that commitment to share our lives completely, so we already felt married. Seeing our parents and siblings become closer made us feel like we are already one big family.
